Since Madi has been sitting up so well lately, we tried our bath in the big tub tonight. Sucess! She loved it. You could tell she thought she was cool.
She loved to splash the water with her hands...
And suck the water out of the wet washcloth...

Playing Dress Up
Madi is outgrowing most of her 0-3 months outfits (finally... She's only six months old!) but her 3-6 month outfits are still just huge on her. Strangely, the 6-9 month hand me downs we got from some of Allen's colleagues are starting to fit. I guess because they shrunk in the wash? Anyway, we've had fun trying on lots of summer outfits now that it's finally warming up.
Madi was just figuring out how to sit up but was still falling over quite a bit so she had a pillow fortress to keep her safe. And then one day last week, she just got it! She still falls a little bit but for the most part we can just plop her there and leave her (unless she tries to get something out of her reach. Timber!)
Grandma bought this way cute summer dress since most of Madi's clothes don't fit. I was a little worried when I saw the tag. It said 8-12.5 lbs. But she'll be able to wear this adorable one for a couple months by the look of things.
She's also started showing interest in this toy (and one like it at grandma's house) that has moving parts when you push the plunger-part. She can't push it yet but I think she realizes that's what makes it go because she often puts her hands there. Smart girl!

A Kappa Reunion
An old Kappa friend, Shauny Shoemaker (that's not her name anymore... not sure what her married name is) just got married last week so the gang used the reception for an excuse to hang out.
Molly is holding Jess's sweet baby Kit. You can't tell but Molly has her own little baby belly!!! She is due November 1st and we are very excited to find out what she's having, especially since her husband, Andy just got into Med School at the U so they don't have to move!!! Yay!
See how much difference six months makes? Even a teeny baby, like Madi is so much bigger than tiny newborn Kit! I sometimes forget Madi was ever that small and helpless. She's doing so many things now! She is sitting up on her own (Yay!!!) and I keep thinking she'll crawl any day now. She's really not THAT close but she just tries so hard! And we're eating peaches! Not pureed peaches, but bottled peaches cut into teeny tiny slices. She just kinda gums them and they're so soft they just fall apart in her mouth. She loves them! She's getting so independent. K, not really but a lot more than when she was Kit sized.
Madi had just had her shots the day before and it was bedtime so unfortunately she was a little sad and fussy but she is always so good to just be passed around. She doesn't really care who holds her. Whether it's Auntie Jessie (above) or Kate (below). Such a good baby!
We are sad that our dear friend Kate is moving to Ohio at the end of the month! Boo Hoo! We'll miss her and her adorable kids so much but are excited for all the prospects of moving to Ohio and Med School for Tyler!!!
I had such a good time hanging out with all the Kappa gang. Molly's sister (and fellow Kappa) Camille was there with her cutie of a fiance. I'm sad I'll have to miss the wedding as I'll be in Texas, visiting my awesome friend Jen and her two sweet girls.

6 Months Old!
I can't believe my baby is half a year old!!! At her check up she weighed 12 lbs 14 oz (3rd percentile) and was 24.5 inches long (10th percentile). She's so teeny! But the doctor isn't worried so I'm resigned to the fact that I just have a little, happy baby!
Props to Kari Hobson for the way cute personalized onesie.
This is Madi trying to grab the camera. She loves to grab ANYTHING but especially things like phones, cameras and remote controls. Oh, and glasses. Ooh! Shiny...
Don't mind the video games in the background. My husband and I are NOT the gaming type but there is one game, Gun, that Allen loves. Can you guess what kind of game it is? That's right, it's a western game where you get to shoot people. I know that came as a huge shock for you all. ;) So we borrowed Trent's Wii for a little while but Allen inherited Nate's old Game Cube and got his very own Gun game for his birthday last week so maybe we'll be able to clean up that mess a little bit.

Bear Lake
For my birthday this year, I told my family I wanted ALL of us to go up to Bear Lake. So we had a birthday/mothers day extravaganza!
Allen's family came up with us too. We just played games and ate LOTS and LOTS of food. It wouldn't be an Edgar gathering without food.
Allen and me and our babies. :)
Muddler loves his new friend Cocoa. She's now a few inches taller than Mud but they love to wrestle.
Madi tried to drink from grandpa's Coke bottle.

Month of May
Haven't posted since the beginning of May. Don't have a good excuse. Madi is really getting mobile- she's getting a lot better at getting what she wants. This day she wanted Muddy.
This was Madi's first experience with carrots. She likes them (duh).
It's been getting a little bit more difficult to get her to take naps. She just doesn't want to miss anything exciting. Sometimes we just have to let her cry.
Allen's sisters Jill and Kayla took me shopping for my birthday. Such good Aunties.
I lost my camera for a few weeks so I'm afraid I don't have very much from the month of May. But the camera has been found so expect lots in June!! (maybe...)
