Embrace the Camera

I know this is a repost from yesterday. Sorry. My sick daughter insisted I take a picture of the two of us together. I love that she loves to have her picture taken. She's such a little poser. :)

My Intimate Relationship with Snot

Little Miss M has had THE worst cold of her short life the last few days and she has been miserable (which means we are too). Today was easily the worst day since she started getting sick on Saturday. Coughing, fluids exploding from nose and mouth, won't eat or drink very much and wants to be held all the time (so not my daughter) makes me feel just awful for her. So far I've been able to find two things that cheer her up, however briefly. Going for a walk and when mom takes pictures with her camera. This is what I got yesterday.
I can't get over how cute this face is. Even sick.

She found daddy's new hat and wanted to wear it around the house. And apparently crayons are yummy.
Don't mind the excessive drool. Or the filthy bib. She refused to let me take it off.

She wanted me to take a picture of the two of us. This was the result.

After her bath but immediately before a meltdown and bedtime.

Extra Incentive

Just in case any of you needed any extra incentive to donate to the relief effort in Japan, Cheri from I am Momma Hear Me Roar is donating ALL of the proceeds from her new bag pattern to helping Japan.

All you have to do is donate to an organization of your choice and then email her to receive your pattern and tutorial. I was planning on donating anyway but hadn't gotten around to it yet. This gives me just a little extra incentive. Hope it does for you too! Go here to get all the details.

Choose Life

I found this blog post via a friend and was so moved by it I knew I had to share it with you. Take a read with your heart open.

"That Could Have Been My Baby"

3.05.2011

A saturday at home, first official pregnancy pictures, and my 100th post!

I love my days off. Duh. Miss M made it a fairly difficult day, as far as days off go, but it was a day off so it still wins over most other days. In between temper tantrums (hello, toddlerhood), we spent too much time on the computer

Took a long walk with daddy

And took my first official pregnancies pictures for this pregnancy (sorry baby!)

Also, this is my 100th blog post! Pooray!

Mmmmmmm.....

Have you ever seen that Will Ferrell movie Stranger Than Fiction? I've only seen it once but after watching that movie, I convinced myself that it was my life's mission to open a bakery. All of those wonderful treats, experimenting to come up with new recipes, having your own store. It sounded like the life. I forgot to factor in two things:
  • I would weigh 800 pounds if I worked at/owned a bakery
  • I cannot bake
I really can't. I like to bake but it rarely works out for me. It took me more than three years after getting married to successfully make a chocolate chip cookie that my husband would readily approve of. For three years he said "they're ok." I finally got that one figured out and have been so nervous to tweak the recipe at all. However, I recently have started baking with more wheat flour and adding things like flaxseed meal and wheat germ and Al asked me last time I made cookies "what are these flakey things in here? I don't like them." So much for trying to be healthier. : )
Today I felt like baking something yummy, but not necessarily sweet. When I was going through my bookmarked recipes, I came across this one by Delia Creates. Homemade bread! Perfect.

Delishiosity!
